Management Team The Holdings Company's Management team is made up of Chief Executive Officers of the subsidiary companies and group office executives.
Urum Kalu (“UK”) Eke, MFR MD
Urum Kalu (UK) Eke assumed office as Group Managing Director, FBN Holdings Plc. on January 1, 2016. He joined the Board of First Bank of Nigeria Limited in 2011 as Executive Director, Public Sector South and until his appointment as GMD of FBN Holdings was Executive Director, South at FirstBank.

UK Eke is a seasoned banker with deep financial services experience spanning diverse areas including risk management, consulting, taxation, process engineering, capital market operations and business assurance. He began his career with the professional firm of Deloitte Haskins & Sells International where he rose to a Senior Audit Consultant prior to joining Diamond Bank Plc. where he worked for 19 years and became Executive Director, Regional Businesses, Lagos & West.

UK Eke has over 30 years of professional experience and he brings his wealth of knowledge to the Boards of a number of institutions where he serves as Non-Executive Director including FBN Bank (UK) Limited, First Pension Custodian Limited and Financial Institutions Training Centre (FITC). He holds a first degree in Political Science from the University of Lagos and an MBA in Project Management Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. A philanthropist and a respected business administrator, UK Eke is a Paul Harris Fellow of The Rotary Club International, a Member of the Institute of Management Consultants, Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and recipient of Nigeria’s National Honor of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR). He is happily married with children.
Tijani Borodo Company Secretary
Tijjani Borodo was appointed Company Secretary, FBN Holdings Plc in September 2012. Before this appointment, he was the Company Secretary for First Bank of Nigeria Limited (FirstBank). His career at FirstBank spans over 26 years and he has occupied various managerial positions within the Bank. He was in charge of the Bank’s Secretariat as well as the Secretary to the Board of Directors and Annual General Meeting for 14 years. Before joining FirstBank, he served with the Ministry of Justice, Kano state and rose to the position of Director, Public Prosecutions.

Tijjani brings his wealth of experience to bear on the Board of FBN Holdings Plc. He is a Fellow, Institute of Directors, Nigeria and the Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria; Member, International Bar Association, Nigerian Bar Association, and an Honorary Senior Member, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. He has attended courses and programmes in various first-rate business and management schools abroad, including Harvard Business School, the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Kellogg School of Management, Illinois and the London College of Management Studies. Tijjani is married with four children and loves swimming, listening to music and travelling.
Oyewale Ariyibi Head, Finance
Oyewale Ariyibi is the Head of Finance at FBN Holdings Plc. Before this appointment, he was Chief Finance Officer at Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp) and Country Financial Controller at Standard Chartered Bank, Nigeria. He has a combined 23 years experience in banking and allied financial services, business assurance, tax management, business process review and consulting across several institutions.

Wale's core competencies include financial accounting and reporting, capital raising, tax planning and cost management, operational risk management, strategic and corporate planning, compliance and business assurance amongst others, which he brings to bear on his functions at FBN Holdings Plc. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (ACIT) and Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria (ACIP). Wale loves travelling, soccer, table tennis and is happily married with children.
Folarin Alayande Head of Strategy and Corporate Development
Folarin Alayande is Head of Strategy and Corporate Development of FBN Holdings Plc with responsibility for growth and innovation across the Group. Prior to his appointment, he was pioneer Director of Public Service with global consulting firm Accenture in Nigeria from 2011-2014 with responsibility for client account leadership and market development across Tax and Revenue Agencies, Public Sector Operations, and Defence and Public Safety.

As Country Strategy Lead for Accenture between 2007 and 2011, he served as program director for Nigeria’s Vision 20:2020 Economic Transformation Program ; School Lead for the Global Core Analyst School in Illinois, United States, and was on the international firm’s Global Leadership Development Program in 2010-2011 for the highest-performing senior managers across 40 countries worldwide. Over his management consulting career, he led multi-year advisory engagements in strategy, M&A, and organizational transformation working with the boards of some of West Africa’s largest financial service institutions, regulators and public service agencies, including a brief stint as Project Manager in Asia Pacific in 2005.

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of the United Kingdom, Mr. Alayande obtained his Masters degree from The London School of Economics, and earlier worked for Citibank as a risk analyst. He is distinguished recipient of the United States Bicentennial /African-American Institute Certificate of Excellence and the United Nations African Industrialisation Day Prize. An active nature tourist, he has served ad-hoc on the Presidential Committee on Police Reforms and is a regular contributor and thought leader in the fields of competitive strategy and corporate governance.
